I'm not sure on the particulars of the compression base valve, but I did saw apart the HSCV dampers and the 2008 RC3, insanely crude by any measure, again, you had to run it super fast to avoid hydrolock. The rebound was a crude bleed with no high-speed, so you had to run it fast and the compression damping was similar, the "compression" damper simply closed off orifices in the bottom and prevented the oil from flowing out, making it closer to hydrolock. Stick with the oil mentioned above and you'll be in great shape.Ĭlick to expand.Gunna disagree with that. Run it a few times, and don't rush into any crazy maintenance ideas without doing research. Just because you can run your tires at 65 psi doesn't mean it's a good idea. It's an adjustment, only use whats best and make small changes from there. If you turn it all the way in it's supposed to be way too slow, thats the way all my marzocchi's have been. If you're running your rebound almost fully open and it feels good thats ok.
